I just read some days ago about Mozambique, a Southern African country/nation that gained independence from Portugal on 25 th June, 1975, more than fifteen (15) years after Nigeria gained their independence from Britain. Mozambique which has its capital city as Maputo, has an estimated population of 24 million. The country also has a nominal GDP estimated at $11.170 billion. They were colonized by Portugal thereby making their official language Portuguese. Since 2001, Mozambique’s annual average GDP growth has been among the world’s highest. WOULD YOU FORGIVE THEM??? Today is Sunday, the 17 th day of September, 2017 which kept me wondering what the priest would be preaching today during homily. Well, the sermon today was centered on forgiveness which I magnanimously decided to bring up today (on this forgiving faithful day). Christians say “The Lord’s prayer” on daily basis or at least every week which touches on our ways of life. We must forgive every trespasser that comes our way. Let me share briefly a story the priest used in driving his”forgiveness sermon” home. He shared a story about an evil woman who came to him in tears and agony confessing her sins on how she had rendered one of her children useless by turning the male child into an imbecile with a lot of other deformities and also killing her husband with the aid of administering poison into his food that led to his early demise.
