POEM FOR SOUTH-EAST

 A POEM FOR SOUTH-EASTERN NIGERIA

Nigeria, oh Nigeria
My blessed South-Eastern Nigeria.

Terrain flowing with milk and honey
Terrain blessed with peace and money
Peace-loving and fruitful people
Great productive and magnificent people.

Pride of our Nation
Light of the Nation
Salt of the Nation
Home for all of us
God's own States.

Our hospitable Eastern Heartland
Our magnificent city known as the Coal land
God has blessed Our lands
With prosperity and green lands.

We are by nature, industrious
And ultimately, prosperous and generous
It is time to come HOME and invest
So as to place the heart and mind at rest.

Oh, our South-Eastern leaders
Please work for us and desist from looting
For we love and pray for our leaders
But not for those who hate their people and enjoy looting.

It is high time our roads are built
For they are nothing to write home about now
The South-East is filled with filth
Like we are animals on our own lands now.

The people are tired of the betrayal
For we are no longer in the times of the medieval
This is the twenty-first century
We must behave as those in a modern century.

Let love lead.
All these I plead.

Nigeria, Oh Nigeria
God bless South-Eastern Nigeria!..

DON'T SAY NO TO SOUTH-EAST LEADERS

WOULD YOU FORGIVE THEM??? Today is Sunday, the 17 th day of September, 2017 which kept me wondering what the priest would be preaching today during homily. Well, the sermon today was centered on forgiveness which I magnanimously decided to bring up today (on this forgiving faithful day). Christians say “The Lord’s prayer” on daily basis or at least every week which touches on our ways of life. We must forgive every trespasser that comes our way. Let me share briefly a story the priest used in driving his”forgiveness sermon” home. He shared a story about an evil woman who came to him in tears and agony confessing her sins on how she had rendered one of her children useless by turning the male child into an imbecile with a lot of other deformities and also killing her husband with the aid of administering poison into his food that led to his early demise. Now it has been five (5) years since her deformed son had been locked up in a store like bags of rice, beans, tubers...

WHERE ARE YOU OHANEZE NDI IGBO AND SOUTH-EASTERN GOVERNORS???

ARE OHANEZE NDI IGBO AND SOUTH-EASTERN GOVERNORS STILL IN NIGERIA??? It is disheartening that since after the Biafran war that ended in 1970, that the South-easterners have not had a genuine and transparent government and leadership (I did not say RULERSHIP which we see now in the hands of our present-day Governors). This is in exception to the late Dr. Sam Mbakwe who single-handedly transformed Abia and Imo state when both states were still one as Imo state. The late Dr. Sam Mbakwe led Imo state from 1st October, 1979 until 31st December, 1983 under the Nigerian People's Party (NPP). Mbakwe was a lawyer and political scientist who had the interest of the people at heart. Mbakwe's administration's main priority was to improve Imo state roads. WHICH HE DID. As concise and precise as this might be, enough of Dr. Sam Mbakwe's history and achievements. This is no longer 1979 neither is it 1983. This is 2017! This is not 1979 when Sean Parker with net worth of $2...

IT COULD BE YOU ON THAT SICK BED (1)

Our lives are worth more than any other thing in life. Yes! Including money, which is the root of all evil! Being surprised is an understatement! I was speechless and pitiful on Nigeria, the GIANT OF AFRICA, so to speak. Having been referred to as same by so many world leaders and countries all over the world, all I can do is shake my humble head. Well, we are in Nigeria. We know what is obtainable in Nigeria. Please, I need someone’s opinion here. How on earth would a Nigerian Federal Hospital be on strike???! Please, I am asking again! How on earth is a Government hospital on strike???! Don’t we value human lives anymore? Are we now animals? Have we now been so engulfed in hardship that we can no longer speak out in order for our leaders to right their wrongs? My heart is broken! My soul bleeds! I weep! How did we get here? Just think for a moment what will happen if the Nigerian Army embarks on a strike? What if our very own Nigerian Police e...
